Project Details
The Fire Protection and Detection System for this Plexus-owned Electronics Manufacturing Plant in Bangpakong was protected with a Denso™ Petrolatum Tape Wrap system over a three-month period between December 2021 and February 2022.
The system incorporates Denso Paste S105™ primer, Densyl™ Mastic, and Densyl™ Tape, which is specially modified to perform in tropical environments and was selected for its excellent surface tolerance properties and the ease with which it can be applied. Irregularly shaped fittings were first profiled with Densyl Mastic to create smoother contours before wrapping with Densyl Tape. Utilising a mastic helps to prevent any air gaps in the system in order to seal the pipe surface entirely and reduce the risk of corrosion occurring underneath the system.
This was an extensive project with the contractors Powerline Engineering completing the application on hundreds of metres of pipe, to a very high standard, in a very short time period.
